The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless seeks workshop proposals for our 2018 conference titled: “The Future is Now: Cultivating Champions for a Bolder MN.”
The conference will be held in Duluth, MN on September 13 and 14. Sessions should meet the professional and personal development needs of a diverse audience, including people new to the work, experienced professionals, and people experiencing housing and economic insecurity.
All workshop proposals are welcome and will be considered. We will give special attention to those that seek to answer the central theme of this year’s conference: The Future is Now: Cultivating Champions for a Bolder MN.
Minnesota’s collective efforts to end homelessness are unique in the nation. Together, we have built cross-sector, bi-partisan partnerships that have led to strategic, targeted investments and real reductions in the number of people experiencing homelessness.
MCH has sought to support and defend legislation that protects resources utilized by low-wealth and under-resourced communities, including communities of color and/or Indigenous communities, and will continue to do so. Our 2018 legislative agenda was our boldest ask yet, and we will not stop until everyone has a place to call home.
What new tools can we use to cultivate creative solutions for housing insecurity? Where will we pursue strategic investments? In what ways will we ensure that every aspect of our work is shaped by an equity lens? How will we build relationships with unlikely partners to ensure a bolder future for Minnesota?
The MCH 2018 conference will focus on creating a future for Minnesota through cultivating champions in the housing sector. The future is now. Only together will we develop a bolder, more equitable and effective model for housing stability and economic security.
